Paws and claws have seen quite a few trends in the past few years from fancy nail art to new techniques. As an athlete I personally needed minimal effort and nails that could withstand a gale (basically a tornado). And as someone who loves to stay up to date on the latest trends I decided to give a few different methods a try.
1. Nail Polish: Any one up for a weekly change in color? If you have plenty of time it is a fantastic method of looking put together especially for a lady (or lad) on the go. Nail polish has had plenty of advancements within the past few years to make them dry faster and last longer; however, the chipping is real. If you have a not so hands on job nail polish is the perfect solution. Or if you are only looking to be seen as put together for a night or maybe for an interview it is a great way to make a good impression.

2. Gel Polish: One of the few nail trends that I never jumped on board. Too many extra things for me to do at home and I didn't think it was worth it to go to the salon. On the upside of gel, many people love it and do think it is worth the extra buck to get done. Gel is great for a mom on the go or someone who has no desire to add length to their nails. Gel also keeps the natural nails well protected if they are done correctly as well as taken off correctly. Gel generally lasts 2-3 weeks and can be found at most salons.
3. Gel Dip Powder: The happy medium. This is my go to manicure! Relatively new and hitting the main stream. This mani is perfect for someone wanting stronger natural nails or for someone looking for some added length along with strength. I personally add a fake tip to create a uniform look on all my nails. Doing them yourself usually lasts up to 4 weeks. Be on the lookout for an in depth review and instruction on all things Dip Powder!
4. Acrylics: Last but not least the strongest and longest lasting of all the manicures. This manicure lasts anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks, or longer depending on fills or how fast your natural nails grow. People who get acrylics tend to keep them on for longer periods of time and get fills which is a process where the manicurist will fill the gap between the acrylic and you cuticle. This is not the manicure for me, not only because they hurt my natural nail bed every time I've gotten them done, but also due to how thick the nail ends up being in the end. I feel useless when I have a set on. They are a beautiful option for others and can be found at most salons. They can also be very versatile with the nail art done on the nail!
